We have a range of health and safety programmes, lasting between one day and seventeen weeks.
They are primarily for people in employment, and are designed to ensure that all employees within a business or organisation are aware of their own safety and that of colleagues, customers and contractors.
These courses will teach you the principles of health and safety and enable you to gain a formal qualification evidencing your expertise. The knowledge you will gain from these courses is useful for your own personal development and for the safety of others, and will help with your professional development at work.
For those working in the construction industry, a specialist NEBOSH Certificate is also available.
Are your staff fully trained in Manual Handling?
It's a legal requirement under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and the Manual Handling Regulations 1999, that you regularly train your staff in Manual Handling to a level that is suitable and sufficient to meet the needs of your organisation.
Rather than buy in this training every time, why not encourage a member of your staff to gain the necessary qualifications to deliver this training to other employees within your organisation? This would not only be more convenient for you , but also far more cost effective.
The Chartered Institutue of Environmental Health (CIEH) Level 3 Award in Training Skills and Practice, together with Manual Handling technical training, will soon be available at Bridgwater College.
The College's Language Centre provides an in-house technical translation service to ensure Health and Safety instructions are communicated to non-English speakers in the workplace.
