Food professionals are in great demand and work in many occupations including industry (manufacturing, retailing and food service), universities and schools, government, research and development, quality assurance and food law enforcement. As well as animal farming and husbandry, agricultural service activities, fishing and the production process.
Currently there is a massive demand for suitably qualified entrants to the food industry in all areas with an estimated 137,000 new recruits required before 2017 of which one third is anticipated to be managerial positions.
