What our students say

Nuclear Student Jake Hannam

Jake Hannam

There is a huge future for nuclear engineering and fortunately I live in an area where specialist training and facilities are located to assist with the industry’s progression. My employer fully supports my learning, which allows me to put into practice the theory I learn in the classroom into a workplace setting.”

Jake is studying the Nuclear Engineering Foundation Degree and works as a Maintenance Technician at Hinkley Point B Station.

Nuclear Student Shaun Cridland

Shaun Cridland

I regret that I didn’t do better at school, because aspects of this course have really challenged me. But my employer and the College have supported me all the way and I’ve just graduated with Distinction! I’ve had a promotion at work as well, so my hard work has really paid off.”

Having completed the Foundation Degree in Nuclear Decommissioning, Shaun has set his sights on an Honours Degree, but in the short term has key projects at the Hinkley Point a station to complete.
