Subject Information

Floristry is so much more than arranging flowers. It requires artistic flair and creativity, excellent customer service and communication skills, and good business acumen.

Career options are exciting and varied - from working in a florist shop, hotel or supplier, to roles as an event organiser, party planner, teacher or judge. Our floristry studios are in the heart of the historic and picturesque Cannington Court, with display windows to showcase your creation.

Industry specialists deliver a range of full and part-time courses encompassing art and design, business organisation and customer service. Subjects covered usually include commercial floral, tied, wedding and funeral designs.

Many students progress to self-employment or go on to work for one of the 8,000 floristry businesses within the UK.

We have excellent classroom facilities and highly experienced teaching staff. There may be an opportunity to study floristry abroad on a study tour to Holland whilst also visiting local floristry enterprises. Students are also encouraged to take part in a range of other industry visits.

We also offer part-time courses for all ages and abilities, and are ideal for those interested in working in the industry or for keen amateurs wanting to improve their skills.
