Our Childcare Centre offers nursery care to children aged four months to five years and has purpose built accommodation, with a secure outdoor area boasting an ‘inspirational garden’, where children are encouraged to explore both indoor and outdoor learning.
The College's last Ofsted inspection received Grade 1 'Outstanding', with excellent teaching and learning. We have been awarded a Beacon Award for our links with the Childcare Centre, links that allow us to connect theory and practice on all our courses, including the opportunity to experience Forest School.

What our students say
“I always wanted to work with children and have been fortunate to have undertaken a variety of employment positions including a nursery nurse and forest school leader. The opportunity to study a degree alongside my job has allowed me to progress my career further. This course has allowed me to share techniques and inspirational ideas with other Early Years practitioners.”
Cat Griffiths is a Senior Early Years Educator at Bridgwater College’s Childcare Centre and has successfully completed the BA (Hons) Early Years Care and Education.
“Our lecturers are great at ensuring we gain valuable experience outside of the classroom. As part of the programme I’ve been able to carry out work experience at a local school. The teachers I worked with whilst on my placement were very supportive and I learnt a lot during my time with them. I’ve also been on a number of residential trips and recently went to London to experience various childcare settings around the capital — it was fascinating to experience working with children from a greater diversity of backgrounds.”
Former student of Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College in Weston-super-Mare, is going on to study the Foundation Degree in Early Years at the College.
