Our music provision includes music lessons (theory and practical), specialist music and music technology courses and an HND Music Production course.
We have a purpose-built performance suite and recording studios with industry standard equipment. All students have access to an excellent range of instruments and one-to-one music lessons and are taught in an environment described by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding'.
Whether you are planning a career as a performer, composer, producer, administrator, teacher or technician, we have a course that will meet your needs. Not only that, but we have a Music Academy and a Show Choir, which every student is encouraged to apply for and means you may get to gig, compete and tour at a national level.
Performing Arts Scholarship
In order to continue to attract the most gifted and talented students to Bridgwater & Taunton College, we have recently introduced the Bridgwater & Taunton College Performing Arts Scholarship Programme.
The scholarships are valued up to a maximum of £200 and are used to subsidise costs related to your study and ambition – for example additional books or resources, or costs of visits to Universities. Scholarships are only available to students of Bridgwater College who are under 19 on August 31 on their year of enrolment.Performing Arts Scholarship Application Form

What our students say
“My biggest achievement whilst at College has been securing a place on tour with The Stranglers as apprentice monitor technician assistant, which included setting up on stage for the band during their tour of 19 shows across the UK. It was an incredible experience and has given me even more motivation to work hard on my course and beyond.”
Former pupil of Huish Episcopi Academy in Langport, hopes to go on to be a Monitor and Front of House Engineer in the Live Sound Industry.
“My teachers have really opened my eyes to the wide range of careers within the industry, they are a great inspiration as they have all worked, and some are still currently working in, the industry. At the moment there’s a huge shortage of live sound skills in the sector. Having this knowledge has helped me to pinpoint areas to focus in within my studies.”
Former pupil of Kingsmead School in Wiveliscombe, Josh hopes to study the Foundation Degree in Music Production Technology at Bridgwater College on completion of his course.
