Our staff are highly experienced and supportive, our facilities are outstanding, and all students get to work in our professional television studio and digital editing suites. Subjects covered include video production, storyboarding, shooting and editing. Students will have the chance to get involved in making TV studio programmes, documentaries and music videos.

With a two-camera television studio, digital cameras and digital editing suites the facilities available to our media students are fantastic. On top of this students participate in various visits and residential trips within the creative industry and may also have the opportunity to take part in relevant work experience. In the past students have worked closely and developed strong relationships with organisations such as the Engine Room and the Young Persons Film Council.

What our students say

Media Student Rebecca Howes

Rebecca Howes

One of my greatest achievements whilst studying at the College was gaining my first broadcast credit at 17! The extra-curricular filming alongside the programme benefitted my studies immensely, allowing me to make contacts and learn how to work under pressure. I now apply those skills to my work every day; I have just finished work on my final year piece at university, which I filmed in Finland!”

Former pupil of Bridgwater College and Haygrove School in Bridgwater, is currently a Documentary Film and Radio Maker and studied at Newport Film School at the University of South Wales.

Art, Design & Media Student Jess Mitchell

Jess Mitchell

I wanted to join the Academy after seeing how good the work the students produced last year was. I haven’t been disappointed as I’m currently the Project Manager for two projects, one for luxury fashion brand, Mulberry, and one for a new clothing range at Bridgwater College. It’s been great to interact with different people and learn about and experience the different roles within film production.”

Jess Mitchell, is studying the Creative Media Production BTEC Extended Diploma.
