Our Childcare Centre offers nursery care to children aged four months to five years and has purpose built accommodation, with a secure outdoor area boasting an ‘inspirational garden’, where children are encouraged to explore both indoor and outdoor learning.
The College's last Ofsted inspection received Grade 1 'Outstanding', with excellent teaching and learning. We have been awarded a Beacon Award for our links with the Childcare Centre, links that allow us to connect theory and practice on all our courses, including the opportunity to experience Forest School.

What our students say
“Our lecturers are great at ensuring we gain valuable experience outside of the classroom. As part of the programme I’ve been able to carry out work experience at a local school. The teachers I worked with whilst on my placement were very supportive and I learnt a lot during my time with them. I’ve also been on a number of residential trips and recently went to London to experience various childcare settings around the capital — it was fascinating to experience working with children from a greater diversity of backgrounds.”
Former student of Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College in Weston-super-Mare, is going on to study the Foundation Degree in Early Years at the College.
“After leaving College I worked in a nursery and progressed to become nursery manager. After taking a career break to raise a family, I opened my own nursery school, which I also run. I love my job, the children make me smile every day and the staff are amazing. It’s a very enjoyable setting to work in!”
Former pupil of Bridgwater College and Chilton Trinity School in Bridgwater, Nicola owns and runs Buttercups Nursery in North Petherton.
