Information for Adults
Bridgwater College is a dynamic, forward-thinking community of over 20,000 students and staff, with an approach to learning and teaching that has led to high achievements and a host of prestigious awards. Our students consistently achieve pass rates that exceed the national average and are among the best in the country.
We offer a wider choice of courses than any other college or training provider in the area, with subjects that include Counselling, Accountancy, Dog Grooming and Spanish, to name just a few. The courses range from entry level right through to postgraduate programmes and are delivered on a flexible basis, including short courses on demand.
Courses
You can find information about all the different courses that we offer here on our website or through our Adult Learning Guide
. Courses are organised into subject areas and more information can be found on subjects, and the specific courses, by using the subjects menu on the left of this page. The subject menu is ordered alphabetically.
On each subject page you will find links to the courses we offer in that area, displayed in a course menu on the right of the page. Browse the different subject areas and the courses within them to find what you're looking for and if you still can't find what you want, contact the Information and Guidance Team on 01278 441234 or email info@bridgwater.ac.uk
We have taken care to ensure that the information shown on our website is as accurate as possible, but occasionally changes need to be made. We therefore reserve the right to change or cancel any of the courses listed, or any of the fees quoted, and to cancel courses if insufficient numbers have enrolled.
Curriculum
The combined resources of the College’s Bridgwater and Cannington Centres mean that we have the widest curriculum of any college or training provider in the area, with subjects ranging from Nuclear Decommissioning to Brickwork, and from Photography to Horticulture.
Levels
We provide courses at a range of levels—from entry level right through to postgraduate programmes—for managers and graduates. We offer full-time, part-time and distance learning courses, many delivered as short courses when demand suits.
Awards
Bridgwater College is a Beacon College—an excellent training provider that delivers outstanding teaching and learning. We were also awarded ‘Outstanding’ status at the last Ofsted inspection.
The College recently received the highest training accolade possible for its work with employers—the Training Quality Standard—and has been awarded eleven national Beacon awards in recent years. Our information, advice and guidance services have also earned us the Matrix Standard quality mark.
University partners
We have strong links with partner universities including Oxford Brookes, Plymouth and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). These relationships allow our students the opportunity to study a higher level qualification and have it validated by a prestigious university, in some cases topping their qualification up to a BA or BSc Honours degree.
