The qualification involved complex activities, observations and assessments, and will help staff members Becky Barr, Chris Rex and Jason Pomeroy advance in their careers.

Jason said,

“I've gained a much better understanding of technical drawings, and a clearer perspective of how all aspects of the company operate, from sales through to production and, finally, shipping.”

Guy Atkins, Managing Director at Jo Bird & Co said,

“Having a highly skilled and creative workforce has been a key element in Jo Bird & Co Ltd’s export success, including a Queen's Award for International Trade in 2013. To increase further our skill levels we put three additional members of staff through an NVQ Level 3 that was relevant to our business. We found Bridgwater College to be very helpful – their staff gave the team confidence and guided them through the process with the minimum possible disruption to our production.”

“We are delighted to work with Jo Bird & Co to put in place an on-site NVQ training programme designed to stretch their employees with on-the-job training relevant to their business needs. Through their own hard work, dedication and application, plus excellent support from the Jo Bird management team, all three members of staff successfully completed their NVQ programme. These qualifications will equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to do their job more effectively and improve quality standards.”
