Alex Pathy, who plays for Bridgwater College Football Academy, has been signed by Cardiff City Futsal team until the end of the season.
Cardiff City, who compete in the National Futsal League, the highest level of futsal in the country, scouted Alex when their youth futsal team played against Bridgwater College in a recent fixture.
A Level student Alex was released from Yeovil Town FC at the end of last season and has only recently taken up playing futsal since joining the College in September. Originating from Brazil, futsal is a small sided, indoor version of football and is considered to be the fastest growing sport in the world.
Bridgwater College Football Academy Coach Luke Buckingham said
“For Alex to reach such an elite level in such a short space of time is truly remarkable and is a fair reflection of his hard work and commitment.”
