Female Football v Loughborough - Bridgwater & Taunton College news

In their second game of 2018, the Elite Female Football squad played a home Cat 1 league match against Loughborough. The two teams previously played at the start of the season with the visitors running out as winners. But having played several games since, the squad have been producing improved performances each week.

With two of the squad unavailable due to injury, two changes to the previous starting eleven saw Jodi Filer switch positions to centre back and Maisie Williams play at full back. The team started the game well with a number of goal scoring chances in the first half. They defended well to prevent Loughborough from counter attacking against their dominance in possession.

There was nothing to separate the two teams at half time. Into the second half and again the team dominated possession in the Loughborough half trying to break through their compact defense to score. TJ and Leah tried their luck from distance after some good footwork to create some space.

Towards the end of the match Loughborough found some rhythm and mounted an attack but Taylor was able to deal with the danger right up to the final whistle. A share of the points and a determined performance from the squad, who felt they should have taken all 3 points.
