Students chosen for 'This Girl Can' Programme - Bridgwater & Taunton College news

Seven students from Bridgwater & Taunton College have been chosen to be part of a national campaign led by AoC Sport.  The This Girl Can Ambassadors will be tasked with raising awareness of the Sport England campaign around the College.  They will be promoting and delivering existing College opportunities as well as creating a range of exciting new activities that will appeal to their female peers and encourage them to get active.  Ambassadors will be expected to target a minimum of 30 inactive females in the College throughout the year.

The number of female students aged 16-19 taking part in sport and physical activity is significantly less than the number of male students aged 16-19, therefore the programme represents a terrific opportunity for the girls to make a difference to female students across the whole College.  The ambassadors will get first-hand experience working in a Sports Development and Sports Coaching role which will look fantastic on university and job applications.

The ambassadors will work alongside the BTC Active team to support the Sport England-funded tackling inactivity project.  They will ensure all female students get a chance to have their say on what they’d like to see offered as well as opportunities to get active.  You can check out what they’re up to by following them on Facebook.
