An informative networking breakfast event held by the Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce also saw the official launch of The Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards, which will be held on Thursday 23 March 2017, at The McMillan Theatre.

The breakfast event took place at the Somerset Energy Innovation Centre on Wednesday 21 September, with key sponsors of the event, including Pardoes Solicitors, Sedgemoor District Council, Milsted Langdon Chartered Accountants and Bridgwater and Taunton College, coming together to promote the prestigious awards evening that is now entering into its fifth year of celebrating the success of businesses in Sedgemoor.

Rose Stacey of Timeless Images Ltd, winner of the Independent Retailer of the Year award in 2016, and guest speaker at the launch event said,

“The Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards highlight the diverse range of business that Sedgemoor has to offer. It is fantastic to be recognised by your peers and other business owners that we do a good job. Being an independent business owner can be a lonely place, but this award has re-established us within the community and in Sedgemoor. This achievement has given us the opportunity to advertise that Timeless Images is an award winning photography studio and has certainly given us a boost in bookings and orders.”

Guy Adams, Managing Partner and Head of Criminal Law at Pardoes Solicitors, who won the Marketing Campaign of the Year Award in 2016 added,

“The awards evening was superb, the McMillan Theatre was the perfect venue for such a prestigious event and the catering by Bridgwater and Taunton College’s catering team was exceptional. Winning this award had spurred us on to do more, we are now employing more staff to increase our marketing capacity further.”

Entry for the awards is completely free, and with eleven categories ranging from the Customer Service Award to International Trader of the Year, there is something for all businesses to enter. A new category has been introduced for the 2017 awards, Agricultural Business of the Year, kindly sponsored by Micron Bio Systems.
