Bridgwater College Executive Head Chef, Scott Pring.

Scott Pring, who has been head chef at Bridgwater College for 15 years, attended the awards ceremony after being shortlisted to one of three finalists from the public sector after being chosen from an astounding number of nominations from catering arenas including hospitals, prisons, educations, military, public and social services and in-house staff restaurants.

Known as the Chefs Oscars, the Guild of Chef Awards recognises and rewards the hospitality industry’s leading talent across all sectors. Seventeen awards were presented on the night, ranging from young and apprentice chefs to pub and restaurant chefs. Specialist sectors such as pastry, public sector and ethnic chefs were also recognised.

On reflection of his achievement, Scott said,

“I am exceptionally proud to have won such a prestigious award. It was a fantastic evening and wonderful to spend time with my peers and heroes of the catering profession. This is the third year that I have been shortlisted for this award so it’s a real honour to have won. To win a Craft Guild award and jacket is one of the highest accolades that can be bestowed upon a chef and I am truly honoured. I would like to thank my line manager, Diana Bright, who nominated me for this award and Bridgwater College who have employed and supported me for the last 15 years.”
