Football coaching students visit National Football Museum & Old Trafford - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Bridgwater College students studying Level 2 and 3 Coaching Football in Community Settings visited The National Football Museum at Old Trafford in Manchester.

The students were given a tour of The National Football Museum which included lots of detail and information about the evolution of 'The Beautiful Game'. It also allowed students and staff to take part in state-of-the-art Football Plus interactive games such as a passing challenge, penalty shootout, goalkeeper reactions and many more.

The group also visited Old Trafford, the home of one of the most successful football clubs in the world, Manchester United. Old Trafford is the second largest football stadium in the UK with a capacity of 75,635. Students and staff were taken on a guided tour visiting, the home changing rooms, directors area and bar, players tunnel, where the managers stands and the tour ended with a chance to look around the famous Manchester United museum.

Jamie Laird, Level 2 Course Leader said,

“The trip was a great chance to educate the students about the history of the game and also visit one of the biggest clubs in the world to see what goes on behind the scenes.”

Reegan Scotcher, Level 3 student said,

“I really enjoyed the day and to have the chance to visit the National Football Museum was really interesting. The tour of Old Trafford was brilliant and to see how the likes of Wayne Rooney prepares for a game was a great experience. We had some time to visit their museum after the tour which gave even more information about their success of the past 100 years.”
