Public Services students get a taste of the Army - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Public Services students at Bridgwater College were recently given a taste of Life in the Army when they were visited by the Coldstream Guards from the British Army.

The group were given the opportunity to find out more about the various career paths available to them as well as a chance to find out what life is really like in the Army.  The second part of the day really put the students through their paces on the field with a two hour Army fitness session, followed by the chance to shoot a pistol at a target and take part in the infamous cannon run.

Student Grace Copp said that the weapon handling was the best part of the day, while Devon Venner really enjoyed being put to the test on the assault course.

Ruth Burrows, Associate Lecturer for Public Services at Bridgwater College said,

“As a college we are very fortunate to have a great working relationship with the Army. We are always grateful for their support, their visits are always a very valuable experience which is very much appreciated by the College and the students.”
