Rodway Farm helps FarmLink reach primary pupils - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Bridgwater College’s farm, Rodway Farm at Cannington, is one of the partner farms of FarmLink and has made contact with over 8,000 primary school children, between September 2014 and August 2015.

FarmLink is a charity which educates children on about farming, where our food comes from and the countryside. This is done through a range of interactive assemblies, workshops and farm tours, all of which meet the national curriculum.

FarmLink have been visiting schools throughout the South West and Staffordshire resulting in them seeing over 30,000 children between September 2014 and August 2105. Over the years they have been able to maintain regular contact and build strong relationships with local schools and best of all everything they do is free! Their topics range from the Little Red Hen to Food Miles to seasonal topics like Christmas dinner and Harvest.

If you are interested in the full range of topics FarmLink offer, please visit www.farmlink.org.uk. Here you will also be able to access worksheets and lesson plans, enabling schools to do pre-visit work or follow up activities. FarmLink also has partner farms which include, Bracken Burn, Lye Cross Farm, Packington Free Range and Yeo Valley.
