Student appointed Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust Assistant Coach - Bridgwater & Taunton College

A Bridgwater College student who is studying the Level 3 Diploma in Football Coaching in Community Settings with Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust (YTCST) has recently been appointed as the new YTCST under 12’s assistant coach.

Lewis Winter worked hard on his course to develop his football coaching skills, as well as making the most of opportunities that presented to him, such as volunteering at the Community Trust’s summer soccer school. Lewis has been appointed as Junior Premier League assistant coach for the under 12 team.

The Junior Premier League teams are the latest step for the Trust and are run in conjunction with existing Development Centres and the Advanced Development Centre, which aim to develop local players

On reflection of his appointment and his first game with the team, Lewis said,

“It’s great to work with a talented group of players, as well as continuing to work with the Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust.”

Speaking about the appointment Trust Manager Sara Bradley added,

“I was thrilled to be in a position to reward Lewis for his hard work by giving him this fantastic opportunity. Lewis has volunteered at a number of programmes delivered by the Trust, growing in confidence each time and has proved to me that not only is he a competent coach, but someone that will go that extra mile to help his community.”

“By working with him over the last year, I knew he was ready and extremely able to take on the challenge. He will learn a lot from working in this sort of environment and our U12’s Manager will be a great mentor for him. To date, I have had nothing but positive feedback from those working with him, which is great and testament to Lewis and the person he is.”
