Before working with Media Orb Danny completed 24 years in the British Armed Forces. Following his retirement from HM Forces in 2004 Danny decided on a change in career and became security for Prime Ministers and VIPS. 

Danny started Media Orb in 2011 with a fellow colleague beginning with only four clients. After four years the company has grown dramatically, now boasting over 400. The company sells websites to other companies, creating exciting search engines to optimize the company profiles, with some companies spending between £20,000 and £30,000.

Danny spoke to the students about his background, career choices, careers available in the industry and employability. He covered topics such as what to expect in an interview, hints and tips, how to stand out in the crowd, how social media can affect your application and CV writing.

Danny used his own experiences and working history to really engage with our students, which included lots of group interaction and the students asked some fabulous questions. One student, Jamie Dawson of Burnham-on-Sea said,

“I really liked Danny, I found his presentation exciting and informative, his stories from his past were interesting and great to listen to.”

With many students still undecided about their futures and how they will progress after they have completed their course at Bridgwater College, this was a fabulous opportunity to learn more about this industry and to find out what they should expect from employers when applying and interviewing for jobs.
