Fashion & Textiles students shortlisted for Young Designers awards

Two students from A Levels and Fashion Retail have been shortlisted for the Clothes Show Live Young Designers awards and could receive £1,000 for their handbag designs.

Chloe Wiltshire and Becky Cochran’s designs were shortlisted and they will be displaying them at the hugely popular Clothes Show Live event in December.

In addition, the College has been invited to enter students for the nationally recognised and highly prestigious Golden Shears tailoring awards. Karen Adams, Gina Boswell and Lizzie Morrell students from Foundation Diploma have taken up the challenge!

This has seen the students visit and have fabric donated by Douglas Cordeaux of Fox Brothers, Wellington in order to construct a number of tailored women’s wear garments which will be judged by some of the best tailors in the UK and celebrities also. Gina said,

“This opportunity will help my portfolio for university and is good experience for my development as a designer.”

The judging for both is held before Christmas, so fingers crossed we will have some fashion and textiles national award winners, watch this space!
