An Automotive student at Bridgwater College was recently awarded the Outstanding Achiever Award in the Heavy Vehicle category at the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Awards 2014.
Matthew Dyer, who is currently studying an advanced apprenticeship in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair at the College, was one of nine national winners chosen from over 120,000 IMI Qualification learners and 30,000 IMI Accreditation holders with finalists coming from all over the UK. Matthew was presented with the overall winner's trophy by HRH Prince Michael of Kent GVCO, in this hotly contested category as the Outstanding Technical student for 2014.
Richard Clayton, Programme Manager of Automotive Engineering for Heavy Vehicle at Bridgwater College said,
“Matthew has worked extremely hard during the past three years and it is a testament to his dedication, knowledge and skills which he has developed during his time in training and this award makes Matthew the top technical apprentice in the country which is a fantastic achievement.”
