Who is the course for?

All MOT testers are required by the DVSA to undertake a minimum of three hours’ MOT annual training to remain up-to-date with best practice methods. All testers must also complete an MOT annual assessment, based on this learning to maintain their professional status.

What does the course involve?

The DVSA will outline the mandatory elements that you will be required to cover in their annual training syllabus. Learners must complete and record at least three hours training per year.

What are the assessment methods?

The annual assessment will consist of 30 multiple choice questions. Questions will range from newly issued MOT special notices and MOT inspection standards and procedures.

How long is the course?

The training and assessment will be held over the course of one day.

Awarding Body

Bridgwater College is an approved IMI centre and candidates will receive IMI certification as proof of completing the training requirements and annual assessment subject to a successful outcome.
