Course Information

Who is the course for?

This practical course is suitable for those students with little or no experience in dog grooming. Students will learn how to bathe, groom and nail trim dogs as well as gain an understanding of health and safety and customer care. Basic clipping and trimming will also be introduced.

What does the course involve?

  • How to handle dogs safely and the health and safety aspects of grooming
  • Hygiene aspects of grooming
  • Theory and practice of basic grooming including techniques, styles, bathing, nail trimming and an introduction to clipping

What makes this course special?

The tutor has worked in the grooming industry and is experienced in teaching the subject. Learners will be taught in the College's purpose built grooming facility that is fully equipped and has a kennel block to house dogs safely whilst not being groomed.

There is no formal assessment with this course.
