Who is the course for?

This course is suited to those who work in job roles such as:

  • Team/section leaders,
  • Floor managers
  • Trainee supervisors
  • Team co-ordinators

What does the course involve?

Apprentices will study madatory and optional units to suit indivdual job roles, units of study may include:

  • Manage personal performance and development
  • Communicate work-related information
  • Lead and manage a team
  • Principles of team leading
  • Understand business

Placements/Work Placements

In order to carry out an Apprenticeship learners must be in a real work environment, carrying out duties provided by your employer which will develop your ability to work as a team leader.   

Placements can be secured in any organisation where team leadership takes place; this could be for the public, private or charity sector. During the College interview, the training officer will discuss how best to obtain a position. There may be organisations that the College is working with who are looking for an apprentice or learners may prefer to approach an organisation of their choice.

Entry Requirements

  • An initial assessment and successful interview
  • An assessment of the learner's job role

What are the assessment methods?

  • Assessed in the workplace 
  • Online portfolio
  • Multi-choice exams

How long is the course?

The Apprenticeship will take between 12 – 18 months to achieve depending on commitment and ability to collect evidence.

What are the College attendance requirements?

There is no requirement to attend College. Learning takes place remotely via BlackBoard VLE and OneFile online portfolio.

What are the progression options?

With support and opportunities in the workplace apprentices may progress onto the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Management, another sector specific Advanced Apprenticeship in Business & Administration or Customer Service.

The majority of apprentices can expect to be offered a permanent contract with their employer with endless progression opportunities going forward.
