Who is the course for?

This course has been designed by the Bridgwater College Barbering term to blend traditional barbering skills with current methods and techniques. The course is suitable for anyone who wants to upskill, develop and build confidence in cutting gents hair. 

What does the course involve?

Learners will study all aspects of gents cutting. The course content includes:

  • The art of cutting gents' hair using a blend of traditional and modern techniques
  • Scissor over comb
  • Clipper over combe
  • Disconnecting
  • Fading
  • Blending in lines

Entry Requirements

Level 2 or 3 hairdressing or Level 2 in Barbering (or equivalent).

What are the assessment methods?

There is an online theory test. All practical assessments are undertaken in the College salon through practical observation.

How long is the course?

This course is designed as an 11 week course.

What are the College attendance requirements?

Four hours a week on a Thursday evening.

Are there any additional costs for the course?

In addition to tuition fees learners will need to purchase a training block head for approximately £40.
