Who is the course for?
The course is ideal for anyone looking to gain experience in a range of industry standard graphic design packages.
What does the course involve?
The course will spend three weeks each on the three software applications; Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. It is an entirely practical course with lots of opportunities throughout each week to explore the possibilities of each package, starting with editing, retouching and adding text to photographs. You are welcome to bring in your own photographs and text and a large memory USB data stick will be provided for you to transfer images between college and home or work.
What makes this course special?
The course’s content is very wide-ranging to reflect the possibilities in all of the three software packages. There will be opportunities for the group to influence the areas of each package explored and the pace at which you move from one activity to another. The course tutor has experience of using these packages with first time users.
There are no entry requirements for this course, just a keen interest in extending your computing skills to include graphic design packages.
What are the assessment methods?
Your work on the course is not assessed but you will receive a college certificate of attendance and will receive feedback on each weeks’ activities.
How long is the course?
The course will last for 9 weeks.
What are the College attendance requirements?
The sessions are 2 hours long on a Tuesday evening at the Taunton campus.
