Who is the course for?
Does the thought of using a computer to keep in touch via email seem out of reach? Do you want a short course where you get useful training on how to create an email address, send and receive emails and add attachments? We can help you with the basics, through to more complex tasks. This course is aimed at the beginner who may want to just learn how to use Microsoft Outlook to keep in touch with friends and family.
What does the course involve?
You will learn a variety of topics from creating a unique email address, setting up an email account to sending, receiving emails with attachments. You will also learn how to set up folders to help you retain emails and find them again. Over the five weeks you will also learn how to keep yourself safe online and how to spot ‘spam and phishing’ emails.

You will have access to our excellent computer facilities and expertise to master the use of emails over the 5 week course. This course is designed as an introduction to computers and those wanting to progress can do so onto the next course at the next level – ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence).

You will be assessed through a series of practical tasks tailored to your requirements.

One 2 hour session a week.

Successful completion of this course can lead on to the ECDL essentials (European Computer Driving Licence) course run at the college.
