Who is the course for?

This course is for those who wish to gain experience and confidence in developing a basic promotional website from scratch.  This course is entirely practical each week you will develop your own 5 page website suitable for a small business owners, community groups or individuals looking to start an online presence.

What does the course involve?

Over the five weeks you will study the practicalities of building a website from scratch. 

  • Create an overall website structure
  • Develop pages with a suitable balance of text and images
  • Learn HTML and TCSS programming language
  • Add bespoke functions such as a ‘booking’  tool/ feedback or contact forms etc.

What makes this course special?

This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to build, design and maintain a small promotional website under the expert guidance and support of a knowledgeable tutor. You will be provided with a USB data stick to enable you to bring in photographs and text to upload onto pages or to save your work to share with colleagues or committee members as the website develops.

What are the assessment methods?

You will be assessed through practical work in sessions and on the success of your finished website.

How long is the course?

5 weeks.

What are the College attendance requirements?

One evening – 2.5 hours per week.

Are there any additional costs for the course?

There are no additional costs for the course but you will be provided with a large memory USB data stick for use on the course.

What are the progression options?

Successful completion of this course can lead on to a range of other part time computing courses.
