Who is the course for?
This course is ideal for those that are new to computing and are considering putting together a computer at home for the first time. It is also an ideal course for those that are computer owners and are looking to help maintain their computer running at its optimum.
What does the course involve?
The sessions will focus on the individual components (the hardware) of your basic home computer and the role that they play in enabling the computer to function optimally.
It will also include sessions on software to support a computer operating at its potential.

This subsidised computing course will provide a good foundation of knowledge for actively maintaining your home computer. You will be working in first class facilities and undertaking practical tasks on college computers enabling you to learn, practice and perfect skills before embarking solo at home.
There are no entry requirements excepting an enthusiasm to learn more about the building blocks of your computer and perhaps a desire to be more self-sufficient in maintaining your computer personally.

This course is six weeks long
What are the College attendance requirements?
Each session is 2 hours, 15 minutes long
Are there any additional costs for the course?
No. You will be provided with help notes and are encouraged to make your own notes to support putting your learning into practice. The course costs include a USB pen drive for use on the course.
