What does the course involve?

In this course you will learn the skills and techniques to create a stunning large peony flower and a vintage tea cup and saucer.  Over the 6 weeks you will create a beautiful multi layered, unwired peony flower using flower paste and cutters.  You will learn how to use a vintage tea cup and saucer as a mould to create your own edible tea cup and saucer and apply a hand painted floral design using cocoa butter and edible petal dusts. Just perfect to adorn that very special cake or simply sit proudly in your display cabinet. 

What makes this course special?

This course is run by an experienced sugarcraft tutor and professional wedding cake designer.  The course cost includes the cutters, materials and tools you will need to carry on making large Peony flowers and edible tea cup and saucer at home. 

What are the assessment methods?

The tutor will provide demonstrations and feedback to ensure you know how to accomplish each stage of the process. 

How long is the course?

One evening a week for six weeks.

Are there any additional costs for the course?

There are no additonal costs associated with this course but learners will be expected to bring a block of dry oasis and a storage container to transport their sugarcraft tea cup and saucer and flower to and from college on a weekly basis.

What are the progression options?

There are a number of adult sugarcraft short courses run by the college in term time.
