Who is the course for?
This course is for livestock owners of sheep (and potential owners of sheep) that are looking to lamb their own flock successfully and safely.
What does the course involve?
This course will introduce you to the practicalities of lambing a small flock of sheep. You will be actively involved with lambing and there will be plenty of time to ask questions and explore the theory as well as the logistics of supporting ewes to deliver healthy lambs.
What makes this course special?
This subsidised course provides the perfect introduction to lambing with experienced teaching staff in a working farm with state of the art teaching facilities.
There are no entry requirements for the course but you will be expected to come and support lambing in sheds for the duration of the course.
Are there any additional costs for the course?
The course cost includes everything you will need for the duration. Our biosecurity measures include providing the overalls and wellingtons for you during your time on the farm. Lunch is included. You will need to bring wet weather gear for working out of doors.
What are the progression options?
There are a number of courses running at Rodway Farm and Cannington Walled Garden this year aimed at smallholders or landowners looking to grow their expertise in various aspects of land management.
