Course Information

Who is the course for?

This course is for those that are keen to get back into painting or are already painting and looking for an opportunity to paint weekly. Sessions help painters develop confidence and conviction in their own style and provide opportunities to practice very specific skills.

What does the course involve?

This course will help you to improve your drawing and painting techniques and encourage experimentation using charcoals and oil paints.  The course will include one life model session.  There will be a special focus this term on figurative portraits and flesh tones.

What makes this course special?

This subsidised painting course has proved really popular.  The course provides a space where learners are able to stretch and challenge themselves and explore their own style in a supportive, creative and hugely enjoyable environment.  Learners help shape the weekly sessions so that the skills learnt and painting subjects are in large part determined by the interests and aspirations of the group.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements excepting an enthusiasm and eagerness to paint figuratively.

Are there any additional costs for the course?

The course costs include all the paint, paper and canvas you will need for the course. For those new to painting with the Taunton campus please bring £10 on the first session to receive a set of subsidised paint brushes that will ensure you have the ‘right tools for the job’

What are the progression options?

We offer a range of evening, afternoon and day long drawing and painting courses across both Bridgwater and Taunton campuses.
