Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience of paper-based printmaking techniques.
What does the course involve?
Over the six weeks you will explore a varied range of paper-based printmaking techniques including lino print, dry point printmaking, collograph and monoprints. The course will include practical hands on activities for all of these techniques.
What makes this course special?
This course is highly flexible so you will have ample opportunity to influence the images and designs you produce for each printmaking technique. It also covers a lot of different techniques to give you a flavour of the scope of paper-based printmaking methods.
There are no formal requirements for this course excepting an enthusiasm to learn some new skills and explore your creativity through printmaking.
You will be expected to prepare printing plates (using lino or drypoint plastics provided by the tutor -outside of the time spent in college) for the following weeks’ sessions.
What are the assessment methods?
The tutor will provide feedback to help you learn and master new activities and techniques.
Are there any additional costs for the course?
The course costs include the print inks, paper, lino and plastics you will need each week. Learners will need to provide an overall to protect clothing from the inks used in printmaking.
