Who is the course for?

This is a course for those with intermediate sewing machine skills looking to learn how to make simple alterations to garments and soft furnishings. This is a great follow-on course for those who have undertaken the basic sewing machine skills course.

What does the course involve?

Applicants will learn how to make alterations to existing garments and soft furnishings such as curtains.

What makes this course special?

You will be learning new skills in a social setting with likeminded people. You will learn valuable skills to upcycle and re-use old garments and fabrics.

  • No formal entry requirements
  • A desire to be creative and learn new skills is a must

What are the assessment methods?

No formal assessment. This is a College Certificate course.

Are there any additional costs for the course?

Ensure to bring along the garments and soft furnishings you wish to alter and matching thread if need be. You may also bring along your own sewing machines but they will be provided at the college.
