Who is the course for?

This Study Programme will provide you with comprehensive technical training needed for the Nuclear Engineering industry. Engineering. The Nuclear Engineering Industry is a fast-moving, exciting industry which incorporates continuing development of technology and systems. 

What does the course involve?

The Technical Baccalaureate Nuclear Engineering is a Level 3 study programme that consists of three parts

  • A Level Maths
  • An Engineering Extended Diploma
  • A nulcear related Extended Project

Entry Requirements

Five GCSE grades A* – C (or 9 - 4), including Mathematics (Higher) or an appropriate Level 2 qualification with an overall Merit which includes Maths and Science is acceptable.

What are the assessment methods?

You will be assessed though a variety of methods including:

  • Practical assessment
  • Time Constrained Exams
  • Written coursework
  • Presentations

How long is the course?

2 years

What are the progression options?

This qualification is equivalent to 4 A Levels and has been designed to give students the underpinning knowledge and specific skills needed to enable you to progress onto an Advanced or Degree Apprenticeship or University Level course with the National College for Nuclear.
