Where is the course delivered?
- Bridgwater campus
Who is the course for?
These practical sessions are designed for men or women who would like an understanding of electrical safety and wiring. It would also be of use to students requiring work to be assessed for NVQ competencies, open learning, multi-skilling or day release top-up.
What does the course involve?
This very much depends upon the learner, their previous experience (if any), and their reasons for attending the course.
There is flexibility to meet individual needs ranging from: fitting a plug to an appliance, installing and checking lighting and power circuits, basic soldering to installing and testing motors.
What makes this course special?
The course is tailored to individual needs so learners can, within reason, do what they like, (e.g. City & Guilds 2330, EMTA, Home Electrics etc.).
No previous experience is necessary, however an interest in electrical safety, wiring and theory is required.
What are the assessment methods?
Continuous assessments on practical skills.
What are the progression options?
Learners could progress on to the 2330 Electrical Installation course, full-time, day release or open learning programmes including 2365.
