Who is the course for?

This course is designed for students who have an interest in painting and decorating, learning the basics of the trade and possibly looking to work within the construction industry.

What does the course involve?

The course provides an introduction to Health and Safety within the construction industry as a whole, enabling students to identify the risks and hazards which are apparent on construction sites.

Learners will develop their practical decorating skills, learning to use a variety of painting techniques, wallpapering, applying decorative effects and painting a panel door.

Entry Requirements

GCSEs A* - F  or 9 - 2 and/or a successful interview.

What are the assessment methods?

Practical tasks are assessed via a series of workshop projects which are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction. Health and Safety knowledge is assessed via a written workbook.

How long is the course?

One year.

Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating/Apprenticeship.
