Who is the course for?
This qualification builds on the learning of the Level 1 Diploma and aims to progress your knowledge and understanding of electrical installation and systems in domestic, commercial and industrial environments. It will include subject areas such as trade theory, electrical science and practical skills.
For adults, this course is designed for those looking to make the first step into the electrical industry.
What does the course involve?
The course is made up of a number of units which look into areas such as domestic and commercial installations at Level 2 with an introduction to Level 3. All units have a practical and theory element. This course is the ideal preparation if you are considering progressing to the Level 3 Diploma or an Apprenticeship.

- Health and Saftey
- Electrical Installation Theory and Technology
- Electrical Installation Methods Procedures and Requirements
- Electrical Installation Craft Skills
- Electrical Science and Principles

- Minimum of 5 GCSEs A* – C or 9 – 4, including Maths, English and Science

How long is the course?
What are the College attendance requirements?
15 hours a week including self-study.
Are there any additional costs for the course?
Course materials, safety foot wear and other P.P.E (approx. £120) plus two textbooks will be required at a cost of aprox £40 - £50.
What are the progression options?
Students can progress on to a day release Apprenticeship programme (an employer in the electrical trade with appropriate work is required) or on to the Electrical Installation Level 3 course.
