Applying for Accommodation

In order to apply for a place in our accommodation you will need to follow this procedure:

Step 1

If you are interested in applying to live in our on-site accommodation, you will need to complete and return an expression of interest form. You will then be invited to attend an interview. This usually takes place when you are being interviewed for your chosen course. If you later decide you are no longer interested or do not require accommodation you must let us know by contacting the Student Liaison Team.

Step 2

In the Summer term, from the end of April, we will send out letters and/or emails to inform you if you have been successful at interview. You will then be invited to complete an online application form and asked to pay £175 by the closing date specified. This reserves a place in accommodation for you.

Please note: our online store is currently under development. To pay your accommodation deposit, please call our Finance department on 01278 441226.

At this time you can also access bursary information and application forms allowing your parents/carers to apply for funding if required; this is done on a first come, first served means-tested priority basis. For more information and up to date advice please speak to Student Support on 01278 655126 or 01278 441233, email them at studentsupport@btc.ac.uk or view the Student Support pages.

Step 3

Allocations for accommodation are made during the month of August; all successful applicants will be emailed/written to confirm their place. This will include information relating to the procedures that will need to be followed for the start of term. Places are allocated in order of priority, therefore students applying to study a land-based, higher education or specialist course, or living outside of a 15-mile radius of the College will gain precedence.

Contracts

All students living in residential accommodation are required to sign a Contract. Contract vary depending on your age. Please click on the appropriate link below to view the Contract, Code of Conduct and further information about residing at the Cannington Centre.

Deposit

If you are not successful in receiving a place we will return your deposit of £175 to you. However, if you are allocated a place and decide you no longer want to live in our accommodation we will keep the £175 non-refundable deposit.

Please note: our online store is currently under development. To pay your accommodation deposit, please call our Finance department on 01278 441226.
