Bridgwater is on the main rail line from Taunton and the main campus is just a short walk from the station. There is free parking at Bridgwater and Cannington campuses, (£1 per day at Taunton Campus) and there are also designated zones for parking mopeds and bicycles.

Buses to College

Each day over 20 buses come to the Bridgwater campus from towns and villages across Somerset and North Somerset, with connecting buses transporting students to and from the Cannington campus in the morning and afternoon.

Somerset County Ticket

Students living in Somerset can apply for the Somerset County ticket, which allows unlimited bus use within the County from 1 September to 31 August. Applications for 2017/2018 are now open and should be made online directly to Somerset County Council

If you live over 2 miles from the campus you mainly study at, Bridgwater & Taunton College will reimburse £300 of this cost in termly instalments following application to our Transport Bursary. Students may be eligible for further support from the 16 - 19 Bursary. Please contact Student Support for more information: or 01278 441233.

All of the services included under the County Ticket Scheme are public buses, therefore please check with the individual operators for information about their own ticket schemes as these may provide a less expensive option for you than the County Scheme.

If the cost of bus travel for the academic year to the College is greater than £395, when you purchase weekly or monthly tickets directly from the operators, please download the Transport Bursary application form to assist with this cost. The bursary can provide up to a maximum of £300. As with the County Ticket, refunds will be made in three termly instalments.

Bridgwater & Taunton College Bus Passes

Bridgwater & Taunton College operate a number of services that do not fall under the County Ticket scheme from areas without direct public services to the Bridgwater campus. This pass allows travel to and from Bridgwater campus (with links to Cannington) during term time on the designated services below, the cost of this bus pass for 2017/2018 is £330.

  • Bakers services from Portishead, Clevedon, Yatton, Congresbury, Weston-Super-Mare, Milton, Worle and Lympsham. (Routes 610, 611 & 612)
  • Taylors services from Shepton Mallet, Castle Cary, Keinton Mandeville, Yeovil, Martock, Ilchester and Somerton. (Routes BC05 and BC06)
  • Berrys service from Wiveliscombe
  • Bridgwater & Taunton College minibus service from Tiverton

Payments (College bus passes only)

Students getting the County Ticket will pay Somerset County Council directly for their pass.

Students purchasing Bridgwater & Taunton College bus passes can either pay in full at the time of application, either by cheque or via our Online Store or if you wish to spread the cost of the bus pass please download our direct debit mandate.

Ensure you return this with your application form for processing along with a cheque for the first instalment of £33, the first instalment can also be made by card payment through our online store. We will set up 9 monthly direct debits of £33 which will be collected on the first working day of each month from October through to June.

Bike Loan Scheme

This Somerset County Council run initiative allows a student living in Somerset and attending a full-time education course, to loan a bicycle, lights and a lock at low cost via the scheme for an academic year. At the end of the loan period the student has the option to buy the bicycle and equipment at a highly subsidised rate or return it. For more information on the scheme and how to apply please visit
