Learning Resource Centres
There is a large Learning Resource Centre at each of our sites in Bridgwater, Taunton and Cannington, and support and resources are provided to students learning at all of our sites.
In each of the main LRCs, there are areas set aside for quiet study or group work, with access to networked computers, scanners, photocopiers and the internet. All students are welcome to use their own laptops with wireless connection to the College network, and there is a useful booking facility for computer reservation for students.
Resources include books (including fiction), course textbooks, magazines, journals, films and music. National and local newspapers are also provided. There is an extensive collection of resources and information within Blackboard (our Virtual Learning Environment) with links to online databases, e-Books and websites which will help with research. There is also a free interlibrary loan system if the resource required is not in stock, as well as a Book Shop facility. Library staff are always on hand to help.
The Careers Library has a wide range of materials which can help decisions about further study, gap year possibilities and summer work. There is a wide range of literature, resources, IT packages and prospectuses from a range of universities. For finding employment there are books and websites on just about every career.
