Check out our £8 million Energy Skills Centre, delivering engineering, science, low carbon and nuclear related education – the only one of its kind in the South West. Our performing arts centre, The McMillan Theatre, opened in 2015 and provides facilities for our expanding performing arts curriculum, as well as hosting events for the local community.
Our Taunton Centre, previously known as Somerset College, predominantly offers vocational qualifications across a range of subjects and from September 2017 is introducing the International and Technical Baccalaureate Programmes into its offer. Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities which helps to support their learning and grow their knowledge in readiness for when they enter the world of work or enter higher education.
In recent years, over £10 million has been invested in improving the facilities at our land-based centres and the resources for land-based training are now considered to be among the most exceptional in the country, providing students with state-of-the-art surroundings for learning and practising their skills.
The Yeovil Centre is located at Lufton College and offers a range of land-based training. Students have access to a wide range of stock including exotics, raptors and a range of mammals, as well as dedicated teaching facilities and a specialist library. The rural location is ideal and gives agriculture students space to practise their skills.
