“Studying the IBDP has made me realise that I want to study Anthropology at university; I love finding out how culture influences people and the way they live their lives. I have the opportunity to explore this in my course through my languages and also as part of the Creativity, Action, Service unit. It’s great that the subjects complement each other so well!”
Emma Buchy Dury, former pupil of Huish Episcopi Academy in Langport, is studying Anthropology and Archaeology at the University of Oxford.
“The absolute highlight of my course has to be my work placement in South Africa with the African Conservation Experience. I got to care for animals such as lions, baboons and a baby rhino; one of my daily tasks was play time with the lion cubs! This experience is one that I will remember forever and wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support of my teachers.”
Alex Palmer, former pupil of Worle Community School in Weston-super-Mare, is studying Zoology with Animal Behaviour at Bangor University.
