What our Students say
Bethany Tucker, is studying A Levels in English Language and Literature, Sociology, Media Studies and Fashion and Textiles.
“I took Media as an A Level and enjoyed it so much that I decided to join the Academy. It looks brilliant on my CV, job applications and for higher education next year. I am the Social Media Manager and Sports Journalist for the magazine, which gives me great experience in a variety of media sectors.”
Journalism School Leader Vanessa Hughes
“My background is in journalism after studying Media and Business Studies. I have worked on a number of commercial publications as copywriter and copy editor before commencing teacher training. Since becoming a teacher I have forged many links with the creative media industry, maintaining crucial partnerships between professionals and learners. I have recently completed an MA in Creative and Media Education and I’m also Programme Manager for A Level Film and Media and the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma Digital Media Design.”
Emma Britton, BBC Somerset Radio Presenter
“I’ve worked with Media Academy’s Radio team when launching the ‘This is Bridgwater’ film and I am always amazed whenever I step foot into the College. It is one of my few regrets in life not attending Bridgwater College; it is a fantastic hive of creativity. I love my job as a radio presenter at the BBC so to be able to be part of the Media Academy’s radio show was a real honour and I thought the team were fantastic – I might need to watch out for my job in the future!”
